Job Description

Robert Half is working with a law firm in Fort Worth that is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Probate and Estate Planning Paralegal to join their legal team. This role supports attorneys with a broad range of probate administration and estate planning matters, including drafting documents, managing case files, communicating with clients, and assisting with court filings. The ideal candidate is organized, client-focused, and able to manage multiple matters in a deadline-driven environment.

Job Responsibility

  • Assist attorneys with all aspects of probate and trust administration
  • Prepare and draft estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, advance healthcare directives
  • Draft probate petitions, notices, inventories, accountings, and related court filings
  • File pleadings and other legal documents with probate courts
  • Maintain and organize physical and electronic case files
  • Communicate with clients, beneficiaries, financial institutions, and court personnel
  • Track deadlines and manage attorney calendars for probate and estate planning matters
  • Assist with asset collection, valuation, and distribution during estate administration
  • Support trust funding and post-execution estate planning matters
  • Conduct legal and factual research as needed
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance in all documentation

Requirements

  • 2+ years of paralegal experience in probate, estate planning, or trust administration preferred
  • Paralegal certificate or equivalent legal experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of probate procedures and estate planning documents
  • Experience preparing court filings and legal correspondence
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • High level of professionalism, discretion, and client service
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal case management software
  • Experience working in a law firm environment
  • Familiarity with court e-filing systems
  • Ability to work independently while supporting multiple attorneys
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through
