Job Responsibility

  • Manage daily Health Office operations, providing first aid, assessments, medication administration, and emergency response for students
  • Develop and manage Individualized Health Plans (IHPs) and support students with chronic conditions, injuries, and mental health needs
  • Maintain accurate, compliant health records, monitor immunizations, and ensure adherence to state regulations and infection control protocols
  • Collaborate with faculty, families, counselors, and wellness team members to support student health, accommodations, and care coordination
  • Provide health education, assist with staff training (e.g., EpiPen use), and support school-wide safety and emergency preparedness initiatives
  • Coordinate health planning for field trips and school travel, including medication prep, documentation, and on-site care as needed
  • Support summer camp health services, transitioning to a more reactive care model during non-academic months

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and active Massachusetts RN license required
  • 5+ years of nursing experience
  • pediatric experience preferred
  • 2+ years of school nursing experience preferred (independent school experience a plus)
  • Current BLS and First Aid/CPR certifications
  • strong clinical judgment and documentation skills
