Job Description:

The Registered Nurse is responsible for implementing the nursing process based on expanded knowledge and experience. The Registered Nurse is also responsible for providing age appropriate patient care to include the child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient which addresses biological, emotional, developmental, psychosocial, and patient/family educational needs. The Registered Nurse provides critical care, which includes but is not limited to, continuous cardiac monitoring, emergency care management, continuous IV admixture infusion, ventilator management, invasive line management, and providing patient ADL's.

Job Responsibility:

  • Implementing the nursing process based on expanded knowledge and experience
  • Providing age appropriate patient care to include the child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient which addresses biological, emotional, developmental, psychosocial, and patient/family educational needs
  • Providing critical care, which includes but is not limited to, continuous cardiac monitoring, emergency care management, continuous IV admixture infusion, ventilator management, invasive line management, and providing patient ADL's

Requirements:

  • A graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing
  • Minimum 1 year clinical experience preferred
  • A licensed Registered Nurse in the State of Georgia or Alabama as determined by job location
  • ACLS and BCLS certification
  • Possesses strong verbal and written communication skills, has a commitment to customer service
  • Communicates effectively with all applicable customers and age groups
  • Works effectively with patients and family, maintains a cooperative working relationship with the medical staff and other members of the health team

  • Detect and respond to adverse drug reactions, with special attention to vulnerable populations such as infants, children, pregnant and lactating women, or older adults
  • Educate and engage patients in self-management of acute or chronic illnesses, tailoring instructions to patients' individual circumstances
  • Order, perform, or interpret the results of diagnostic tests such as complete blood counts (CBCs)
  • Maintain timely, complete and detailed records of patients’ personal health information in the electronic medical records system and keep such information confidential in accordance with legal requirements
  • Keep abreast of developments in nursing, medicine and regulatory processes and payer systems such as Medicare, Medicaid, managed care, and private sources, maintaining competence in clinical practice with participation in continuing educational experiences and maintenance of Basic Life Support certification
  • Perform all services in compliance with the most current, accepted professional standards and the standards of the Joint Commission
