Job Description:

The Infrastructure Technology Lead Analyst plays a critical role in fulfilling the firm’s commitment to safety and soundness by ensuring Citi delivers efficient and high-quality solutions and technologies, coordinating foundational macro technology strategies, ensuring Citi’s readiness to safely leverage new technologies, and making Citi a competitive destination for the best technical talent. The successful candidate will focus on designing, implementing, and maintaining virtualization private/hybrid platforms, with primary emphasis on VMware VCF, Hypervisor based, and containerization technologies.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead the engineering designs, proof of concept, deployment, and ongoing management of VMware and Containerized environments
  • Design, certify, and implement highly available and scalable infrastructure solutions to support critical business applications
  • Ensure efficient resource utilization across virtual and cloud environments to meet performance, security, and availability requirements
  • Develop automation scripts and tools to streamline operations, reduce manual intervention, and improve infrastructure reliability
  • Utilize configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform) to automate the provisioning and management of virtual, cloud, and containerized environments
  • Implement comprehensive monitoring solutions to proactively detect and resolve issues across virtual, cloud, and container environments
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical problems, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum performance
  • Regularly analyze system performance and make recommendations for improvements
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation of infrastructure designs, configurations, and procedures
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to cross-functional teams
  • Evaluate products, develop prototypes, contribute to design initiatives, and assist with implementation where required
  • Work with various cross functional infrastructure teams to identify and resolve problems
  • Consult with end users and clients to identify and correct systems problems or propose solutions
  • Assist in the development of software and systems tools used by integration teams to create end user packages

Requirements:

  • Minimum 7+ years of progressively advancing experience in large-scale, enterprise class roles supporting private cloud IT infrastructure
  • Expert knowledge of VMware vSphere, vSAN, VCF, NSX, and virtual Load Balancers (AVI and/or F5)
  • Hands on experience with infrastructure automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform)
  • Current expertise in Deployment, Configuration, LifeCycle Management of VMware related products including the VMware Cloud Foundations stack
  • Proficiency with server hardware including modern Dell and HP platforms, GPUs, and Network Interface Cards/Drivers
  • Familiarity working in Financial Services or other large, complex and/or global environments required
  • Possess soft skills interfacing with project management, project planning, and writing technical documentation
  • Bachelor’s/University degree, Master’s degree preferred

Nice to have:

  • Hands-on experience with alternative virtualization platforms are a plus
  • Experience in public cloud solutions such as Google, Azure, AWS are a plus
