Job Description:

Albourne Partners is seeking a highly motivated Private Markets IDD Senior Analyst to join our US LBO team in San Francisco. The successful candidate will provide support for manager selection, investment due diligence (IDD), and related Private Markets (PM) services. This role will contribute to the development of Albourne’s Private Markets Funds initiatives.

Job Responsibility:

  • Conduct Fund Investment Due Diligence
  • Generate and maintain manager review and due diligence focus lists for assigned strategies and regions
  • Rate managers and articulate the rationale for ratings through active debate within the PM IDD Teams
  • Produce clear and concise investment due diligence reports and recommendations for clients
  • Provide ongoing monitoring of funds in client portfolios or on fund lists
  • Assist clients with accessing managers and building relationships
  • Engage with managers providing high-quality co-investment opportunities and refer these to the internal Customized Investments team
  • Collaborate with the new funds team
  • Produce an up-to-date and accurate Forward Calendar for the assigned strategy
  • Develop strategy forecasts for assigned strategies within PM and HF
  • Create and maintain research on the extranet, outlining key attributes, trends, and drivers of a given strategy
  • Identify tools or analytics to enhance the accuracy of ratings and fund selection
  • Communicate Albourne’s house opinions on strategies or funds to clients via phone or email
  • Manage assigned team members, including work allocation, task/time management, report review, mentoring, and administrative responsibilities
  • Conduct screening, interviewing, and selection for open positions within the team
  • Evaluate team members through performance appraisals and regular meetings
  • Ensure the internal database is maintained with up-to-date information
  • Meet deadlines imposed by management and clients and communicate any delays effectively
  • Participate in applicable internal group calls to transfer knowledge of PM
  • Support business development activities, including client marketing and portfolio construction
  • Undertake ad hoc projects as requested by the Head of Private Markets IDD or daily line manager
  • Represent Albourne at industry events
  • Report potential conflicts to Compliance and ensure conflict disclosures appear on written research reports

Requirements:

  • University graduate
  • 4 to 7 years’ experience in investment due diligence and private markets, with a focus on venture capital
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proactive self-starter, proficient time management and multi-tasking
  • Professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills
  • Systems literacy (Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
  • Travel (frequent)
  • (Optional) Possession of or advanced progression towards relevant professional qualifications (i.e. CFA, CAIA)
  • Regulatory registration (dependent on regional requirements)
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States
