Job Description

Our client, a leading international law firm is looking to add a Private Equity Funds Lawyer (4+ PQE) to its London team. This is a strong opportunity to join a well-established funds practice advising sponsors across the private capital spectrum on the structuring, formation and ongoing operation of investment funds. The team works with a broad range of clients, from emerging managers launching first-time funds through to established sponsors raising multi-billion dollar vehicles. The work is varied and international, with exposure to private equity, venture capital, credit and real estate strategies, as well as related regulatory and investor negotiations. You will work closely with experienced partners and collaborate with transactional teams on sponsor-side mandates, including work involving independent sponsors and cross-border fund structures. This is a role offering meaningful responsibility, client exposure, and the chance to develop within a globally integrated platform.

Job Responsibility

  • advising sponsors across the private capital spectrum on the structuring, formation and ongoing operation of investment funds
  • work with a broad range of clients, from emerging managers launching first-time funds through to established sponsors raising multi-billion dollar vehicles
  • exposure to private equity, venture capital, credit and real estate strategies, as well as related regulatory and investor negotiations

Requirements

  • at least 4 years' experience advising on private equity fund formation at a leading City or international firm
  • strong technical ability in drafting fund documentation and advising on fund structuring and LP negotiations
  • excellent academic credentials and a clear interest in the private funds market
  • strong communication skills and the confidence to work directly with sophisticated clients
  • the ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment
  • a proactive, organised approach and the ability to manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced practice
