We are seeking a dedicated, energetic, and flexible educator to partner with a dynamic family as the primary teacher, mentor, and educational guide for their two children, aged 5 and 7. This role involves creating and delivering an immersive, hands-on, home-based learning experience while providing stability and support during periods of travel, routine transitions, and occasional parental absence.
Job Responsibility:
Collaborate with parents to align on educational goals, behavior expectations, travel schedules, and flexible home-school rhythms
Track and report on academic progress, behavior, social-emotional development, and extracurricular engagement
Develop a customized curriculum covering core academics (reading, writing, math, science, social studies) enriched with hands-on learning, arts, nature, physical education, and project-based activities
Support self-regulation and social-emotional growth
Provide daily in-home instruction and mentorship, serving as a trusted adult and integrating education, life skills, and social guidance
Manage homeschooling logistics: prepare materials, maintain organized learning spaces, schedule experiences, and ensure safe transportation as needed
Maintain structure and consistency, particularly during travel or parental absences, supporting the children through separation or behavioral challenges
Travel with the family as needed—including overnight, weekends, or extended trips—to ensure consistent education
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, Early Childhood Education, or Special Education
Master’s degree preferred
Resides in or near Windermere, FL (or willing to relocate/commute)
Capable of living a lifestyle (or ability) of being “on call” (within agreed parameters) for nights/weekends/travel as required
Experience supporting children with varying behavioral or emotional needs and promoting healthy social-emotional development
Strong ability to design and deliver project-based, experiential learning (including arts, nature, and field trips) and to engage children in a variety of settings
Ability to engage and connect with children and parents, fostering a positive, supportive learning environment
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
capable of building rapport with children and families
Skilled at creating an engaging, welcoming, and motivating environment for children while maintaining strong family collaboration
Demonstrates enthusiasm and professionalism in supporting children’s learning and building effective partnerships with parents
