A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Private Client Tax Manager to join a progressive and growing accountancy practice in Derby. This is a senior-level role focused on private client tax compliance and advisory work, ideal for a CTA or ATT-qualified professional seeking autonomy, technical depth and genuine long-term opportunity.

Job Responsibility

  • Manage a portfolio of private clients and trusts
  • Oversee preparation and review of personal tax returns
  • Prepare and review trust tax returns
  • Provide advice on inheritance tax (IHT) planning
  • Support estate and succession planning assignments
  • Liaise directly with clients, trustees and HMRC
  • Identify tax planning opportunities
  • Ensure compliance with relevant tax legislation and deadlines
  • Mentor and support junior tax team members

Requirements

  • ATT / CTA qualified (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong background in private client tax within accountancy practice
  • Experience advising on inheritance tax planning
  • Experience preparing and reviewing trust tax returns
  • Confident managing client relationships
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Proactive, detail-focused and commercially aware
