This is an opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated Solicitor with ambition to work in our private client department. This role will require undertaking fee earning work, working both independently and as a member of the team, maintaining existing relations with the firm’s clients and to assist and help develop new relationships with third party referrers. This would suit someone looking for a unique opportunity of working with high-net-worth individuals who has a keen interest to specialise in agriculture work.
Job Responsibility:
Assist senior fee earners with drafting complex wills, letters of wishes, lasting powers of attorney, creation of trust deeds and documents
Administer complex estates with particular reference to agricultural clients
Assist senior fee earners to consider complex technical points relating to taxation and partnerships and general succession
Turn work around within a reasonable timeframe
Keep senior fee earners regularly informed of progress
Undertake fee earning work independently and as a team member
Provide a profitable contribution to the department
Maintain existing client relations
Assist in developing new relationships with third party referrers
Conduct private client and related matters on behalf of clients
Work on all areas of Private Client administration
Participate in the growth and future development of the department
Assist in building up the client database and marketing the firm’s services
Maintain orderly and up-to-date files
Comply with the firm’s policies on file management
Complete time recording and other management records
Use case management programmes to run cases
Liaise with clients
Liaise with other professionals e.g. financial advisers and accountants
Conduct legal research
Maintain financial control of own matters with regard to cash flow and billing
Recognise fee-earning opportunities and develop as appropriate
Requirements:
3 years Post Qualification Experience (PQE)+
Caring nature and sense of responsibility
Personable, approachable with genuine interest in dealing with individuals and families
Basic accountancy skills for reconciling client accounts
Good numeracy skills
Competent knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Strong written and oral communication skills
Ability to adapt communication style
Exceptionally organised
Ability to work efficiently and accurately in a busy role
