Job Description

A senior role for an experienced Private Client Solicitor (8+ PQE) involving complex private client matters such as estate planning, probate, trusts, and tax planning. The role also includes mentoring junior staff and engaging in business development for departmental growth.

Job Responsibility

  • Leading on complex estate planning, drafting Wills, managing the full administration of estates, and advising on inheritance tax and trust structures
  • Acting for high-net-worth individuals, families, and business owners on wealth preservation and succession planning
  • Providing bespoke, expert advice with a sensitive and client-focused approach
  • Supervising and supporting junior solicitors and paralegals, contributing to mentoring and team development
  • Working closely with external advisers – including financial planners and tax experts – to deliver holistic legal solutions
  • Actively participating in business development and client relationship management to help grow the department and enhance the firm’s market presence.

Requirements

  • Minimum 8 years’ post-qualification experience in private client law
  • Extensive experience advising on complex probate, trusts, tax planning, and estates
  • A confident and trusted adviser with excellent technical knowledge and strategic thinking
  • Demonstrated leadership ability, with experience mentoring junior colleagues
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a client-first attitude and commercial awareness
  • A proactive approach to networking and business development, helping to drive growth in the team.
