Job Description:

You will join our growing team and facilitate the continued growth of the tax practice in across the Midlands with a particular focus on the mid-market and OMBs. The team helps clients to navigate the increasingly complex tax and sector landscape by providing tailored solutions to manage risks today and stay ahead of future changes.

Job Responsibility:

  • Managing a portfolio of clients consisting of owner-managed businesses, private equity backed and large groups, supporting them on their corporation tax affairs
  • Working on tax advisory projects including group restructuring and international expansions
  • Supervising / reviewing work prepared by junior members of the team
  • Reporting directly to Partners and Directors
  • Overseeing and managing your own portfolio of clients, including liaising with Audit colleagues where necessary, and other teams – becoming the main point of contact for clients in your portfolio
  • Helping coach and develop junior members of staff
  • Proactively seeking out new business development opportunities and participating in pitch / proposal sessions
  • Organising the delivery of tax work and problem solving on a daily basis

Requirements:

  • Qualified (CA, ATT, CTA)
  • Experience of working in a corporate tax position
  • Strong, up to date, knowledge of UK corporation tax legislation and international tax concepts
  • Experience in reviewing work and supervising staff in a tax environment
  • Evidence of managing corporation tax compliance portfolios and tax accounting
  • Excellent communication skills in supporting the team grow and deliver on key client accounts
  • Be flexible in order to juggle client commitments and meet deadlines

  • Liaise directly with external auditors throughout the year on complex transactions and accounting conclusions through to the completion of the year-end audited financial statements

  • Assist in the preparation and review of capital calls, distributions and in responding to investor questions and requests for information
  • Work directly with fund controllers to monitor and project future fund cash flows for the treasury management process including capital calls, distributions, and fee calculations, as governed by fund agreements
