Job Description

Join us as a Financial Crime Risk Manager working within our Private Bank and Wealth Management team based in Dubai. The successful candidate will be working directly to support the Head of PB International Financial Crime Risk, providing expert support to the business in a number of areas. This will include supporting Front Office throughout the client lifecycle (from onboarding to exit), supporting the control environment through risk and issue management, governance reporting and management escalations, supporting audit and assurance activities, managing stakeholders in location/beyond, as well as support strategic initiatives. To be successful in this role you must be able to show resilience, flexibility and demonstrate a strategic mindset while building a comprehensive view of the business and interlinked controls.

Job Responsibility

  • Support the Head of PB International Financial Crime Risk
  • Provide expert support to the business in areas including supporting Front Office throughout the client lifecycle (from onboarding to exit), supporting the control environment through risk and issue management, governance reporting and management escalations, supporting audit and assurance activities, managing stakeholders in location/beyond, as well as support strategic initiatives
  • Assess the integrity and effectiveness of the banks internal control framework
  • Collaboration with various stakeholders across the bank and business units to improve overall control effectiveness
  • Identification and investigation of potential weaknesses and issues within internal controls
  • Development of reports to communicate key findings from risk assessment
  • Execution of reviews to determine the effectiveness of the bank's internal controls framework
  • Implementation of adherence to the Barclays Controls Framework

Requirements

  • Strong Financial Crime or Risk and Controls Background, including direct experience in Dubai with recent (last 3 years) knowledge of local rules and requirements
  • Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal, in English
  • Analytical mindset to identify weakness in controls, and drive remediation
  • Ability to work collaboratively across stakeholder groups and produce key outcomes and deliverables.

  • Fluent in local language
