Are you a committed Social Worker who is able to support the rehabilitation and reintegration of individuals within the prison system? Our mission is to help inmates address personal challenges, build life skills, and prepare for a successful transition back into the community. As a key member of our team, the Prison-Based Social Worker will play a crucial role in this mission by providing support, guidance, and advocacy to individuals in custody.
Job Responsibility:
Conduct needs assessments and develop individualised support plans
Provide one-on-one and group counselling for inmates, addressing issues such as mental health, addiction, anger management, trauma, and family dynamics
Work collaboratively with prison staff, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders to deliver comprehensive support
Facilitate rehabilitative programs and workshops focused on life skills, emotional resilience, and future planning
Help clients access resources and services, both within the prison and in preparation for release
Advocate for inmate rights and wellbeing while ensuring that programs meet ethical and professional standards
Maintain accurate and confidential records of client interactions and progress
Provide guidance and support in family reunification and relationship-building efforts
Requirements:
Qualified Social Worker
SSSC registered in the Social Work part of the register
LSCMI trained
Ideally you will be RoSH trained
