Job Description:

The Print Centre Assistant will support the Print, Design and Archive Team Leader in ensuring the efficient and effective day-to-day operations of the Print Centre. This role involves handling various tasks such as photocopying, printing, collation, finishing, distribution, stock maintenance and basic maintenance.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide photocopying, printing and finishing services (including binding and laminating) for staff and students, distributing completed work across the College
  • Ensure all reprographics activity complies with copyright legislation and maintain accurate service and cost‑centre records for charging purposes
  • Monitor and record stationery and reprographics stock levels, supporting timely reordering as required
  • Carry out basic maintenance on reprographics equipment, including replacing consumables and resolving minor issues such as paper jams
  • Managing the reprographics mailbox and liaising with stakeholders in reference to print centre activities

Requirements:

  • Prior experience within a Print Centre role is desirable
  • Evidence of commitment to professional development

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

  • Coordinate the production of high-volume, confidential, and priority print requests in accordance with service standards
  • Monitor the operational status of printers, copiers, and binding equipment within the copy centre and throughout the floor
  • Initiate service calls and liaise with vendors or internal support when equipment malfunctions or maintenance is required
  • Manage printer supply inventory, including ordering consumables such as toner and paper, and tracking stock levels
  • Coordinate the return and recycling of used or expired toner cartridges in accordance with environmental and organizational procedures
  • Maintain an organized and efficient copy centre workspace, ensuring equipment and supplies are readily available
  • Provide day-to-day operational support to the Business Centre team and assist with additional administrative or service tasks as required
  • Provide coverage and back-up support for other Business Centre functions during peak periods, absences, or special projects
