Job Description:

Security is one of the most critical priorities for our customers as they navigate an increasingly complex threat landscape, heightened regulatory requirements, and hybrid and air‑gapped environments. Microsoft Specialized Clouds Security (MSC Security) delivers trusted, mission‑critical security solutions for customers with the most demanding and regulated needs. We are seeking a Principal Product Manager Manager to lead and scale our Defender product suite support across Specialized Clouds. This role is accountable for setting product direction, driving execution across the Defender portfolio, and ensuring secure, compliant, and consistent customer experiences in highly regulated cloud environments. You will operate at a strategic level—aligning product priorities to Microsoft’s security vision—while also staying close to delivery and customer impact. This is a people leadership role. We are looking for a leader who models, coaches, and cares—someone who sets a high bar for product excellence, invests deeply in the growth and development of their team, and creates a culture of trust, accountability, and inclusion. You will build and lead a team of product managers, providing clear direction, strong mentorship, and ongoing feedback to help them deliver meaningful security outcomes. You will partner closely with engineering, compliance, field, and customer teams to prioritize secure‑by‑design capabilities, manage risk, and accelerate adoption of the Defender product suite across Specialized Clouds. Success in this role requires strong product judgment, the ability to navigate ambiguity, and a proven track record of leading teams to deliver high‑impact results in complex, highly regulated environments.

Job Responsibility:

  • Set direction and lead execution across multiple Defender product areas in Specialized Clouds
  • Manage, coach, and develop a team of product managers
  • Own portfolio-level strategy and governance
  • Drive alignment and delivery across complex, cross-functional initiatives
  • Represent product strategy and execution at the leadership level
  • Create a culture of excellence and care

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development OR equivalent experience
  • 1+ year(s) people management experience
  • Security Clearance Requirements: Candidates must be able to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role
  • The successful candidate must have an active U.S. Government Top Secret Clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) based on a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with Polygraph
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required pre-offer and post-hire for this role
  • This position requires successful verification of the stated security clearance to meet federal government customer requirements
  • This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter
  • This position requires verification of U.S. citizenship due to citizenship-based legal restrictions

Nice to have:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 9+ years of experience in product/service/project/program management or software development OR equivalent experience
  • 9+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects
