Job Description

The Principal Architect role is a critical enabler for aligning Baptist Health’s business strategy with the evolving technology landscape across the enterprise. As the organization pursues digital transformation, data modernization, AI and operational efficiency, the Principal Architect will be pivotal in ensuring every technology investment is strategically connected to business outcomes. This role is responsible for navigating a complex technical environment that includes Google Cloud, AWS, Azure, and on-premises systems to enhance patient care, clinical effectiveness, and organizational agility.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead through influence as an architect and strategic influencer
  • Foster collaboration with Product, Engineering, Operations, and Security teams
  • Mentor and inspire solution architects
  • Communicate and translate architectural strategy into business narratives
  • Balance short-term delivery with long-term strategy
  • Define and maintain enterprise-wide architecture blueprint
  • Function as key liaison between business leaders, clinical stakeholders, and technology teams
  • Translate strategic objectives into actionable roadmaps
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and vendors
  • Actively support architecture of data and AI systems
  • Embed governance into digital ecosystems

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • Minimum 15 years of IT experience
  • 6+ years as a Solution or Enterprise Architect
  • Deep understanding of governance framework and ARB operations
  • Experience developing and managing architecture taxonomies, patterns, and standards
  • Proven ability to align architecture with strategic objectives and OKRs
  • Hands-on familiarity with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure)
  • API-led integration
  • Security-by-design
  • Data architecture principles
  • Experience integrating emerging platforms or modernizing legacy systems at scale
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-domain architectural initiatives
  • Broad knowledge across multiple technology disciplines
  • Strong understanding of business strategy, clinical workflows, and healthcare technology landscape
