Job Responsibility:

  • Interact with all business and customer stakeholders to understand their problems and needs
  • Translate customer needs, business constraints, and regulatory requirements into product functional and performance system requirements
  • Lead the engineering team through the development of system architecture options
  • Objectively and communicate tradeoffs during the architecture selection process
  • Applying systems engineering skills to drive a holistic approach to systems development and design
  • Development of and participation in internal and external research opportunities as it relates to new technologies or innovation projects
  • Apply Systems and Design thinking principles to guide development of Agile innovation process
  • Conduct risk management activities including planning, risk analysis, risk evaluation and control
  • Decompose and allocate system level requirements into module level requirements
  • Plan and oversee reliability and robustness activities
  • Leads cross-functional teams, works directly with platform architects and other leaders to drive work to completion and resolve issues
  • Successfully influences stakeholders
  • Communicates effectively with cross-functional teams and senior management
  • Keeps leadership informed of progress and issues
  • Lead the technical team through technical risk identification and management as well as issue and test defect resolution
  • Ensure changes are analyzed holistically and impacts are fully understood
  • Support all Company initiatives as identified by management and in support of Quality Management Systems (QMS), and other regulatory requirements
  • Complies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments as applicable

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Mechanical, Electrical, Software Engineering or comparable technical subject area)
  • 5+ years of engineering experience including fundamental understanding of Hardware, Software and application engineering
  • Knowledge in ISO 14971 Application of Risk Management to Medical Devices where applicable
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and work collaboratively with others multi-functionally team environment
  • Ability to work in the absence of complete information and make timely decisions
  • Strategic problem solver and can execute with excellent attention to detail
  • Organization & ability to progress on many different tasks in parallel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Strategic thinker but can execute with great attention to detail
