As a Principal Software Engineering Manager, you will define the future of engineering systems and developer productivity. You will lead a team that builds high-scale distributed services for developer productivity and build and utilize AI agents and extensions to significantly improve developer experience of development workflows.
Job Responsibility:
Owns system architecture efforts for complex products, writes design documents, and explores new technologies for integration
Establishes best practices for testing strategies and security validation
Guides dependency identification and creates relationships between systems for security, compliance, and performance
Leads teams in producing maintainable code, resolving development blockers, and identifying best practices
Develops debugging methodologies and tracks incident retrospectives
Leads code reviews and ensures adherence to standards
Directs project planning for resource management and ensures security compliance across products
Guides wide-scale experimentation, safe deployment practices, and live site maintenance
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role
Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter

Significant people management experience, especially who have led teams through change, ambiguity, or stabilization scenarios
