The Microsoft Red Team Intelligence team is looking for a Principal Software Engineering Manager for our intelligence analytics team. The CISO Org is Microsoft’s central cybersecurity authority, accountable for managing and prioritizing cybersecurity risk across the company. The Microsoft Red Team is responsible for finding and demonstrating risk to proactively identify and mitigate vulnerabilities. The Microsoft Red Team Intelligence Team is a specialized unit within the broader Red Team that focuses on generating actionable intelligence to support adversarial risk analysis. We provide data and insight to discover, assess, and track potential security and privacy risks exploitable by malicious actors, including Microsoft Red Team breach operators. As a Principal Software Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of software engineers and analysts to build tooling that leverages our security graph to discover and quantify security risks. You will help the team model & codify lateral movement paths, use graph and data to uncover new security antipatterns, and communicate findings with stakeholders. You will collaborate with partners across Microsoft to help them strengthen Microsoft’s defenses in our rapidly evolving threat landscape.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide oversight and support to team members to ensure delivery of clean, extensible, and maintainable code
  • Lead identification of potential security vulnerabilities
  • Lead collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to communicate findings, identify remediation opportunities, and improve Microsoft’s security posture
  • Participate in on-call rotations accountable for the availability and reliability of service operations

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements
  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check
