Software development is being reinvented in real time, and OneDrive is at the center of that transformation. We’re seeking a Principal Software Engineering Architect to lead the frontier of agentic, AI‑native development. This is a hands‑on role shaping how modern engineering teams design, build, and ship production software across web, backend, and mobile platforms. OneDrive is a core part of Microsoft’s cloud ecosystem, trusted by hundreds of millions to store what matters most. In this role, you’ll influence both consumer and commercial OneDrive experiences across Microsoft, helping teams ship better software faster using AI‑driven approaches.

Job Responsibility

  • Be a leader in agentic development across OneDrive and adjacent organizations
  • Continuously evaluate and adopt emerging agentic tools, frameworks, and workflows
  • Design and build scalable systems across front-end, backend, and mobile platforms
  • Multiply impact through mentoring, workshops, playbooks, and internal tooling
  • Drive ideas from concept to production with urgency and craftsmanship
  • Collaborate deeply with engineering, research, design, and program management
  • Contribute to both consumer and enterprise product experiences

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience including hands-on experience with AI agents, LLMs, and intelligent developer tooling with an emphasis on delivering quality products at scale
  • OR equivalent experience
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role
  • These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter

Nice to have

  • Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 12+ years technical engineering experience including hands-on experience with AI agents, LLMs, and intelligent developer tooling with an emphasis on delivering quality products at scale
  • OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 15+ years technical engineering experience including hands-on experience with AI agents, LLMs, and intelligent developer tooling with an emphasis on delivering quality products at scale
