We are looking for a Principal Software Engineer - Copilot Studio to join our team! The Copilot Studio Platform team sits at the heart of this mission. We are responsible for the execution, management, and runtime foundations that power copilots across Microsoft 365, Dynamics, and multiple other Microsoft products. This includes building and operating the management plane that enables secure provisioning, governance, lifecycle management, observability, and operational control at global scale, alongside highly scalable data and execution planes. We are driving the next wave of innovation in agentic AI, delivering a distributed execution environment designed to scale to billions of agentic executions. As a Principal Software Engineer - Copilot Studio on the platform leadership team, you will set architectural direction across services, define operational and reliability standards, and shape how agentic systems are built, managed, and run across Microsoft. Job Responsibility:

  • Provide technical leadership for the architecture, design, and delivery of scalable, secure, and highly reliable platform services within Copilot Studio
  • Drive end to end system thinking by collaborating with cross functional partners to deliver scenarios spanning Azure, Microsoft 365, and the Power Platform
  • Mentor and influence engineers across the organization, raising the bar on design quality, technical rigor, and inclusive engineering culture
  • Partner with Product Management and engineering leadership to align technical strategy and investment decisions with long term product vision and customer outcomes
  • Define, operationalize, and champion engineering best practices across CI/CD, reliability, observability, and live site operational excellence at scale

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience
  • 1+ years of experience working on AI-related systems
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role
  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter

Nice to have:

  • Master's Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field AND 10+ years of technical engineering experience, including coding in one or more of the following languages: C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field AND 12+ years of equivalent technical engineering experience OR equivalent experience
