Azure Key Vault is a foundational security service in the Microsoft cloud, responsible for centralized management of cryptographic keys, secrets, and certificates used by Microsoft products and Azure customers. The service enables customers to encrypt data at rest, securely store and manage credentials, and provision and automatically rotate TLS certificates across their cloud workloads. Operating at global cloud scale with 99.99% availability, Azure Key Vault is part of the Identity division within Microsoft Security, and plays a critical role in maintaining customer trust in Microsoft’s cloud platform. The team builds and operates highly reliable, secure, and diagnosable distributed systems that protect some of the most sensitive data hosted in Azure.
