Job Description

We are currently recruiting a Principal SESA Engineer to lead and deliver significant transport projects in SEQ.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead and deliver high-quality Systems Engineering and Safety Assurance (SESA) services on major projects
  • Define and manage system requirements, including stakeholder, system, subsystem, and interface requirements
  • Manage safety assessments, hazard analyses, risk assessments, and verification and validation processes in compliance with EN standards e.g. 50126/50128/50129)
  • Provide mentoring and leadership to engineers within the SESA team
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, regulatory bodies, and project teams, to ensure successful project delivery
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, assist with preparing bids, proposals

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical or similar
  • Must be eligible for RPEQ status
  • 12+ years experience working directly as a SESA Engineer
  • Deep knowledge of relevant standards and regulations, including EN 50126/50128/50129, IEC 61508, ISO 15288

Nice to have

  • Strong personal contacts within the QLD Rail industry, particularly operators and main contractors
  • Exposure to other industries such as Defence and Energy
