Job Description:

The Senior Medical Officer, Screening, as a resource to the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Field Medical team, and Commercial teams, provides critical clinical expertise to the external community. As such, the individual in this role must maintain personal and scientific credibility to interact with key national thought leaders (e.g., primary and specialty care providers, health system leaders, health care insurance managers, advocacy organizations, government agencies, medical centers of excellence, etc.) in alignment with CMO-directed engagement strategies.

Job Responsibility:

  • Perform strategic outreach to medical leadership representing Exact Sciences’ screening business, communicating the clinical value proposition of the company’s product portfolio
  • Strategically identify and engage national and regional thought leaders to conduct scientific discussions and understand insights related to clinical need and utility
  • Conduct clinical presentations and information sharing at major scientific conferences, health system meetings, and health care provider settings
  • Ensure close cross-functional collaboration and serve as a senior clinical expert to field personnel for presentations, communications, education, and other initiatives
  • Work in collaboration with Field Medical and Commercial teams to execute CMO-directed strategies for key stakeholder groups
  • Assist in the review, development, and execution of study protocols and engagements with investigators interested in collaborating on prioritized research studies to advance Exact Sciences’ screening portfolio
  • Provide clinical expertise to enrich initiatives such as sales training programs, journal clubs, ad hoc literature reviews, etc. as needed
  • In partnership with Field Medical, serve as a resource for Commercial teams for medical inquiries as needed
  • Effectively engage with internal stakeholders and enable successful linkages across teams
  • Stay abreast of new developments, papers, and trends relevant to Exact Sciences’ screening portfolio and work with the necessary internal stakeholders to be a conduit to the field for review of these developments
  • Ensure compliance with relevant corporate and regulatory guidelines
  • Uphold company mission and values through accountability, innovation, integrity, quality, and teamwork
  • Support and comply with the company’s Quality Management System policies and procedures
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance
  • Ability to act with an inclusion mindset and model these behaviors for the organization

Requirements:

  • Physician (M.D. degree or equivalent) with medical expertise in clinical practice and/or within the biotechnology industry
  • Strong clinical/medical background
  • Experience delivering clinical presentations within the medical community, particularly at major professional conferences and other medical leadership meetings
  • Experience interacting with key external stakeholders such as health system leaders, health care insurance managers, advocacy organizations, government agencies, etc.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office programs (i.e., Word, Excel, Power Point)
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation
