Vitruvius is seeking an experienced Principal Rail Engineer to provide technical leadership across major rail programmes nationwide. This is an influential role where you’ll guide complex projects, support the development of others, and play a key part in shaping technical direction and long-term capability.

Requirements:

  • Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) or equivalent, or actively working towards chartership
  • Proven technical leadership across rail projects, acting as a senior technical authority and verifier
  • 15+ years’ experience as a rail technical professional, with strong expertise in track engineering and multidisciplinary delivery
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and constructively
  • A collaborative technical leader with a strong commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement
  • Experience working within digital engineering and BIM environments
  • Demonstrated involvement in mentoring, technical leadership, or capability development
