BAE Systems Electronic Combat Solutions (ECS) business area is seeking a Principal Program Quality Engineer in the Tactical Air (TACAIR) Product Line. As a critical player for the Tactical Air (TACAIR) Product Line, you will be responsible for ensuring BAE Systems builds compliant product to our customers. Requirements flow down and compliance will play a significant part of every day life. An understanding of production and sustainment programs will benefit you in this role.

Job Responsibility:

  • Support to the production and field return repair process
  • Preliminary material review and material review board member
  • Quality support on non-recurring engineering efforts including hardware redesign efforts due to Diminishing Manufacturing Supply, repair/rework of Customer and Government Furnished Equipment, test stand/test software quality support
  • Interface with the customer and the Defense Contracts Management Agency (DCMA) for audits, program inquiries and product acceptance
  • Develops, modifies, applies and maintains quality evaluation and control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished materials product
  • Devises and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and equipment
  • Designs and analyzes inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment, and conducts quality assurance tests
  • May be certified in lean and six-sigma quality methodologies and utilize quality tools to help drive continuous improvement

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering or technical discipline
  • 6+ years of experience
  • Ability to read, interpret and understand a drawing, print and specification
  • Communication in a clear, concise and professional manner with multiple customers in different organizations, functions and the US Government
  • Interpersonal communication is verbal and written formats
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications including word, excel, power point
  • Ability to learn BAE Systems software and data management programs
  • Proven ability to work in a multi-disciplined team
  • Ability to work independently with little to no oversight
  • Producting high quality work in a face paced, dynamic work environment

  • Lead cross-functional collaboration with Procurement, R&D/Operations, Technical Quality, and Logistics teams to address quality issues at contract manufacturers and suppliers.
  • Establish and administer the supplier audit program for quality/regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain the Approved Supplier List (ASL).
  • Support the Global Supplier Review Board, including providing metrics for supplier assessments.
