Job Description:

The Principal Product Manager role at Hewlett Packard Enterprise involves leading the product lifecycle of core infrastructure within Private Cloud. The position requires a strong background in datacenter infrastructure hardware and skills in CPQ systems, pricing strategies, and financial planning. Responsibilities include collaborating with cross-functional teams, modeling cost structures, optimizing margins, and managing the end-to-end product strategy.

Job Responsibility:

  • Own the end-to-end product strategy for Private Cloud hardware infrastructure: servers, storage systems, and networking equipment
  • Define and manage global product SKUs, configurations, and pricing structures for both standard and custom builds
  • Lead product lifecycle management, including new product introduction (NPI), transitions, and end-of-life planning
  • Collaborate with supply chain, manufacturing, and factory teams to align product specs with production capabilities and timelines
  • Partner with finance and operations to model cost structures, optimize margins, and forecast demand
  • Enable and support accurate CPQ (Configure Price Quote) processes across sales teams and channel partners
  • Drive decisions around sourcing, vendor selection, and inventory planning based on product and market strategy
  • Provide leadership across cross-functional forums and serve as the SME on infrastructure hardware and operations.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of product management or relevant experience in infrastructure hardware, including servers, storage, and networking
  • Strong experience working directly with manufacturing operations, supply chain teams, and factory processes, including build planning and lead time management
  • Deep understanding of CPQ systems, SKU architecture, pricing models, BOM management, and product catalog development
  • Financial expertise in cost modeling, gross margin optimization, and pricing strategy
  • Must have familiarity with NPI processes, product transition planning, and global logistics considerations
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, sales, operations, and executive leadership
  • Experience in enterprise hardware companies, OEM/ODM collaboration, or large-scale infrastructure deployments is highly desirable.
