Advertising is a core pillar of MSN’s business, and as a Principal Product Manager, you will drive the long‑term vision for how MSN monetizes at scale. This role is highly strategic and cross‑functional, owning the evolution of MSN’s advertising experiences across display, native, video, sponsorships, and emerging formats. You will partner closely with Ads Product, Engineering, Data Science, Sales, and Editorial teams to turn business strategy into durable, high‑quality monetization systems that balance user experience, advertiser value, and revenue growth.
Job Responsibility:
Shape MSN’s monetization portfolio, including display, native, video, sponsorships, and emerging ad experiences, with a focus on simplification, standardization, and premium demand
Partner across Microsoft Ads, UX, Marketplace, Sales, PMM, Editorial and Engineering to align roadmaps, unlock demand, and remove friction in how MSN inventory is packaged and sold
Drive data‑informed decision making, using experimentation, performance metrics (e.g., RPM, CTR, viewability, engagement), and advertiser feedback to guide prioritization
Influence system‑level investments, including ranking, yield optimization, ad quality, and infrastructure, to improve long‑term monetization outcomes
Lead through influence, setting clarity and direction for multiple teams and PMs without direct authority, consistent with Principal‑level expectations
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development OR equivalent experience
Proven experience leading advertising or monetization products at scale, including hands‑on ownership of formats such as display, native, video, sponsorships, or marketplace‑driven ads
Deep understanding of digital advertising systems and technologies including RTB
4+ years experience taking a product, feature, or experience to market (e.g., design, addressing product market fit, and launch, internal tool/framework)
6+ years experience improving product metrics for a product, feature, or experience in a market (e.g., growing customer base, expanding customer usage, avoiding customer churn)
6+ years experience disrupting a market for a product, feature, or experience (e.g., competitive disruption, taking the place of an established competing product)
Demonstrated AI fluency, including experience working with ML‑ or AI‑driven systems, and a solid curiosity for emerging AI technologies
