The Principal Product Manager for S&OP will drive the end-to-end product strategy, architecture direction, and execution of Microsoft’s next-generation Sales & Operations Planning capabilities powering global datacenter expansion and AI-scale infrastructure delivery. This role is highly technical and requires strong experience building enterprise-grade planning systems, shaping data and platform architecture, and partnering closely with software engineering teams to deliver scalable, reliable, and automated planning solutions. You will lead the definition and evolution of Microsoft’s unified S&OP platform—integrating forecasting, supply planning, inventory management, and capacity modeling—by combining deep supply chain expertise with modern software product development practices.
Job Responsibility:
Define and evolve the long-term technical vision for Microsoft’s S&OP platform, including architecture direction, data model strategy, integration patterns, and automation opportunities
Partner closely with software engineering teams to translate the product vision into scalable, performant, and resilient platform capabilities
Drive alignment across CO+IE, engineering, data platform, cloud supply chain, and finance organizations to ensure a unified S&OP architecture and roadmap
Own the multi-year product roadmap with a strong focus on platform engineering needs, data engineering pipelines, API strategy, and technical debt management
Lead engineering squads through requirements definition, backlog prioritization, sprint planning, and acceptance criteria
Ensure high-quality delivery of software features through strong collaboration with engineering leads, architects, and quality teams
Incorporate AI/ML, digital twins, and predictive analytics into planning workflows in collaboration with data science teams
Translate complex operational requirements into technical specifications that engineering teams can execute against
Lead planning workshops, influence technical and business stakeholders, and facilitate alignment across engineering, operations, finance, network planning, and construction teams
Create executive-ready insights and recommendations for monthly/quarterly S&OP cycles, connecting platform capabilities to business outcomes
Drive change management and adoption of new capabilities across global teams
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development OR equivalent experience
Bachelor's Degree AND 12+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development OR equivalent experience
4+ years experience taking a product, feature, or experience to market (e.g., design, addressing product market fit, and launch, internal tool/framework)
6+ years experience improving product metrics for a product, feature, or experience in a market (e.g., growing customer base, expanding customer usage, avoiding customer churn)
6+ years experience disrupting a market for a product, feature, or experience (e.g., competitive disruption, taking the place of an established competing product)
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements
