Job Description

At Medius, we believe managing finance should be about strategy, not stress. That same mindset shapes not only the solutions we build, but also the culture we create for our people. We remove complexity, embrace innovation, and give our teams the freedom to focus on what truly matters — whether that’s transforming the future of finance with AI or finding balance to go home on time. Founded in Sweden in 2001, Medius has grown from a local startup into a global leader in cloud-based spend management solutions. Today, thousands of organizations worldwide trust us to simplify accounts payable and spend management processes. Our journey has been driven by continuous innovation, a passion for technology, and above all — the people who make it happen. We’re more than a software company. We’re a team of problem-solvers, innovators and collaborators working together to reinvent the category of accounts payable. Our solutions use Artificial Intelligence to eliminate manual work, bring clarity, confidence, and control, and empower finance teams of the future. At Medius, our values guide how we work and grow together: Connect – We believe in the power of people—individually and collectively—and our success depends on understanding and respecting each other. We appreciate that ‘empowering finance teams of the future’ is an exciting endeavor, and we share it with everyone around us. Question – We enjoy the challenge of our work and the thrill of collaboration. We are not afraid to question ourselves and each other because we believe diverse perspectives can lead to better outcomes and that there is great power in resolution. Own – We are thorough, thoughtful, and decisive. We anticipate what’s next, what a customer might need, and then we deliver. That’s how we get things done. And that’s how we remain a leader. Customers trust us to do our job so that they can focus on what they do best. At Medius, you’ll join a diverse, global community where curiosity is celebrated, ideas matter, and innovation never stops. If you’re passionate about technology, eager to make an impact, and ready to grow alongside a team that lives its values, Medius is where you can do your best work — your impact is global. Learn more at www.medius.com. Medius is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors, including but not limited to relevant skills, experience, qualifications, certifications, internal equity, and the geographic location in which the role is performed. Compensation may vary for roles performed in different locations due to differences in the cost of labor. The total compensation package for this position may also include eligibility for variable compensation (such as a performance bonus or commission), benefits, and/or participation in other incentive or benefit plans, in accordance with the terms of the applicable plans. Benefits may include medical, dental, and vision coverage, paid time off, and retirement benefits, subject to eligibility requirements. Medius is an equal opportunity employer. We are committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all qualified applicants and employees, without regard to race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy, sexual orientation, and gender identity or expression), national origin, ancestry, age, disability (physical or mental), genetic information, medical condition, marital status, citizenship or immigration status, military or veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by applicable federal, state, or local laws. If you require a reasonable accommodation due to a disability or for religious reasons during the application or interview process, please review our accommodations process.

Job Responsibility

  • Own the product roadmap and outcomes for your domain within Medius Payments, with particular focus on B2B card programs (virtual cards, commercial cards, buyer-initiated payments) and underlying payment rails
  • Define and defend prioritization decisions with clear commercial and customer rationale, balancing near-term execution with longer-term strategic bets
  • Monitor the B2B payments landscape — including emerging payment schemes, open banking developments, and regulatory shifts across US, UK and EU — and translate these into actionable roadmap inputs
  • Write and refine detailed PRDs, user stories, and acceptance criteria
  • own specs from discovery through to release
  • Partner closely with engineering and design to shape solutions, review flows, and ensure delivery quality — including rolling up your sleeves on 3rd-line support and bug triage
  • Drive integration design with external payment partners, card scheme networks, and banking providers, ensuring technical and commercial alignment
  • Translate product vision and complex regulatory requirements into clear, scalable product requirements without losing commercial pragmatism
  • Serve as the senior payments' product expert in commercial, sales, and customer conversations — articulating capability, limitations, and roadmap direction without over-committing
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with payment partners
  • Collaborate with Medius Suite PMs to ensure Payments changes are coordinated across the broader AP and Spend management platform — even small changes can have large-scale downstream or upstream impact
  • Support go-to-market teams with product expertise, enablement materials, and launch documentation
  • Work with the legal and regulatory team to monitor global payment regulation changes and proactively adjust execution plans to maintain compliance readiness across all active geographies
  • Apply sound risk and control thinking to product design, particularly for card issuance, payment initiation, and supplier-facing flows
  • This role is a Pod Lead in Medius’s AI-native operating model. You are the single accountable leader of one of the Payments value stream pods — directing the work, leading engineers' day to day, and owning the outcome. There is no engineering manager beneath you
  • Drive agent leverage within the pod
  • Use AI tooling to accelerate discovery
  • Own pod velocity as a first-class accountability: spec → build → ship

Requirements

  • 7+ years of product management experience, with a significant portion focused on B2B payments products in SaaS, fintech, or financial services
  • Deep hands-on expertise in B2B card products — virtual cards, commercial card programmes, buyer-initiated payments, or equivalent — and how they integrate within AP or procurement workflows
  • Strong understanding of payment rails in the US, UK and EU (ACH, Checks, Cards, BACS/CHAPS, SEPA, card scheme networks) and how they underpin B2B payment product design
  • Proven track record of owning and delivering complex, multi-geography payment products end-to-end
  • Experience working directly with external payment partners, card scheme networks, or banking providers at a product level
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills — able to write a crisp PRD and explain payment complexity in plain language to a CFO or an engineer alike
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, global environment with multiple parallel workstreams

Nice to have

  • Experience with AP automation, ERP integrations, or spend management platforms
  • Familiarity with US, UK and/or EU payment regulation
  • Experience at a B2B SaaS scale-up or payments infrastructure company
  • AI Fluency & Ways of Working
  • Comfortable using AI tools as part of daily product work — agent-assisted spec writing, AI-powered discovery synthesis, or automated PRD drafting
  • Able to review and take accountability for AI-generated output and set appropriate decision-authority boundaries for agents operating within a product team

What we offer

  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • Paid time off
  • Retirement benefits
  • Performance bonus or commission
