Job Description:

The Outlook Team at Microsoft is hiring a Principal Product Manager to lead some of our most complex and strategic mobile initiatives. The Outlook team is looking for someone who thrives at the intersection of mobile platforms, AI-powered systems, and large-scale customer impact. As a Principal Product Manager, you’ll operate with significant autonomy and influence, shaping strategy across mobile ecosystems while partnering deeply with engineering, design, research, and business leaders. You will lead through product vision, technical depth, and execution excellence to evolve Outlook’s mobile experiences into AI-first, platform-driven products used by hundreds of millions of people globally. You’ll help define not just what we build, but how we build, influencing systems, frameworks, and long-term strategies.

Job Responsibility:

  • Own and drive mobile platform strategy across key feature areas, with deep focus on iOS and Android ecosystems (Android expertise strongly preferred)
  • Act as a subject matter expert in AI-powered product systems, anticipating customer needs and identifying new opportunities where AI can meaningfully improve experiences and outcomes
  • Lead end-to-end roadmap development, including globalization and scale considerations, navigating complex tradeoffs across performance, quality, privacy, and platform constraints
  • Partner cross-functionally to establish product goals and deliver durable solutions across engineering, design, data science, and adjacent product teams
  • Identify and evaluate investment opportunities, including build, partner, and acquisition paths
  • assess acquisitions for potential migration offerings and integration strategy
  • Advise on customer transition and migration strategies, particularly as products evolve toward more AI-driven and platform-centric architectures
  • Lead engagement programs and deep customer feedback loops, ensuring insights directly inform product direction and prioritization
  • Monitor and evaluate product performance, defining success metrics, assessing impact, and ensuring alignment with broader business and customer objectives
  • Influence without authority, setting direction across teams and organizations through clarity, credibility, and strong product judgment

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development OR equivalent experience
  • Bachelor's Degree AND 12+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development OR equivalent experience
  • 8+ years of product management experience, with significant time spent on mobile products or platforms at scale
  • Product management experience with enterprise-scale software platforms
  • Strong fluency in AI-powered systems, including how models, data, and product experience come together
  • 4+ years experience taking a product, feature, or experience to market (e.g., design, addressing product market fit, and launch, internal tool/framework)
  • 6+ years experience improving product metrics for a product, feature, or experience in a market (e.g., growing customer base, expanding customer usage, avoiding customer churn)
  • 6+ years experience disrupting a market for a product, feature, or experience (e.g., competitive disruption, taking the place of an established competing product)
  • Deep understanding of mobile operating systems, platform APIs, lifecycle constraints, and ecosystem tradeoffs — Android platform experience is a major plus
  • Proven experience working on platform or infrastructure-adjacent products, not just surface-level features
