We’re seeking a Principal People & Development professional to lead large-scale, enterprise-wide initiatives that deliver meaningful and measurable business outcomes. This is a project-led role, focused on designing and delivering strategic people programs — not traditional HR partnering. About the role: This role sits at the centre of Aurizon’s most critical people initiatives — leading the design, delivery and execution of enterprise-wide transformation programs. You will take ownership of complex, interdependent projects and work across the organisation to deliver outcomes aligned to business priorities, using data-driven insights and contemporary organisational practices.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead the design and end-to-end delivery of enterprise-wide people initiatives and transformation programs
  • Deliver strategic projects aligned to priority business objectives across multiple business units
  • Identify business challenges and develop fit-for-purpose people solutions that drive measurable outcomes
  • Apply data and insights to inform project design, decision-making and evaluation of outcomes
  • Drive innovation across workforce planning, talent and organisational development initiatives
  • Lead and coordinate complex change and transformation programs, ensuring successful implementation and adoption
  • Work across specialist and broader teams to deliver priorities, depending on initiative requirements

Requirements

  • Proven experience leading large-scale, complex projects or transformation programs in HR or organisational environments
  • Strong capability in change management and program delivery
  • The ability to translate business needs into practical, structured solutions and deliverables
  • Advanced analytical skills, with confidence using data to influence decisions and measure outcomes
  • A background in HR, organisational development or related discipline (preferred)
  • Experience working across complex or large-scale organisations (heavy industry experience advantageous)
