Job Description

Anaconda is seeking a Principal People Business Partner to join our People team, serving as the dedicated partner to our Go-to-Market organization. This role supports an expansive and dynamic GTM client group spanning Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, Revenue Operations, Technical Solutions, and Partnerships — and plays a critical role in driving the people strategy that enables Anaconda's commercial growth.

Job Responsibility

  • Serve as the primary People partner to GTM leadership across Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, Revenue Operations, Technical Solutions, and Partnerships — building trusted advisor relationships from manager to C-level
  • Shape people strategy that maps directly to GTM business goals
  • Lead end-to-end organizational design work — from diagnosis through full execution — including reorgs, role redesigns, and structural changes, owning the project plan, communications plan, and change management scaffolding your leaders need
  • Ensure the GTM organization has the right people in the right seats — retaining top talent, elevating high performers, and making sure every growth decision sets the business up to win
  • Empower GTM leaders to build teams where excellence and care coexist — coaching them to hold the bar high, have hard conversations with empathy, and create environments where people do their best work
  • Proactively drive org health — ensuring spans of control don't slow the business down, the right ratio of leaders to doers exists, single points of failure are mitigated, and succession plans are solid enough that the org doesn't miss a beat when someone calls in rich
  • Use people data to proactively drive talent strategy — bringing your leaders data-driven recommendations for moving the organization forward, not reactive reporting
  • Partner with leaders to address employee relations matters with consistency, equity, and sound judgment, navigating complex situations with practical, solutions-oriented approaches
  • Actively use AI to augment your work — letting it handle the menial so you can focus on the truly human and truly strategic, while always owning the quality of what goes out the door
  • Show up as a strong peer and collaborator within the People team — contributing to cross-functional programs, sharing knowledge, and actively engaging in the evolution of the function

Requirements

  • 15+ years of progressive People/HR experience, including deep expertise in business partnership, organizational design, employee relations, performance management, and compensation
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and project-manage complex, multi-stakeholder people programs — including reorgs, leadership transitions, and performance cycles — owning the plan, the communications, and the execution yourself
  • Strong executive presence with the credibility and judgment to advise senior leaders — and the intellectual humility to listen, assimilate, and challenge constructively rather than arriving with all the answers
  • A genuinely hands-on approach: you're equally comfortable in a strategic planning session and building the deck, drafting the communication, or managing the detail
  • A solutions-first orientation — you bring a path forward, not just a problem statement, and you move work forward even in the absence of perfect information
  • The ability to ruthlessly prioritize: you know how to identify the highest-leverage work, protect your capacity accordingly, and stay focused on outcomes rather than activity
  • A track record of success in high-growth tech startups, ideally with direct experience supporting commercial or GTM organizations
  • Intellectual humility and a genuine growth mindset: you approach new environments with curiosity, seek to understand before you challenge, and treat every role as an opportunity to evolve
  • You embody our values of Curious by Default, Build Together, Own It, and Lead with Guts and Heart – all with Clarity, Care, and Candor

Nice to have

  • Proven experience supporting Go-To-Market organizations (Sales, Marketing, CS, RevOps, Partnerships) at a fast-moving AI or SaaS company
  • Background in AI/ML, data science, or open-source technology companies
  • A forward-thinking approach to leveraging AI tools in the People function — using technology to improve decision-making, reduce friction, and enhance the employee experience
  • Demonstrated program management rigor on large-scale people programs — the kind of execution that gives leaders full confidence before, during, and after a major change
  • A history of being the most trusted People partner in the room: not the loudest, but the most prepared, most practical, and most impactful

What we offer

  • Flexible Vacation Policy
  • Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance
  • Short Term and Long Term Disability
  • Paid Parental Leave
  • Monthly Wellness Stipend
  • Employee Assistance Program and Mental Health Resources
  • Annual bonus potential
  • Equity participation

  • Credible technical depth in modern cloud-native architecture on AWS, with hands-on understanding of TypeScript, Node.js, React, Kubernetes, serverless, eventing and modern data stores
  • Comfortable engaging with clients and other external stakeholders at a leadership level for both ongoing and new technical initiatives

Job Responsibility
  • Own the technical delivery of the go-to-market products serving Clients, Consumers and Partners, including externally facing APIs, SDKs, partner integrations, and our digital experiences, while balancing delivery pace against long-term engineering quality
  • Set and evolve the technical direction for your team, working with the Platform Manager to keep service boundaries clear, reduce coupling, and stop a distributed monolith forming between product and platform
  • Lead and line-manage your Principal and Lead Engineers, and oversee the engineering squads in your area
  • Embed AI and automation into the SDLC where it removes real friction and improves measurable throughput, not as theatre or another layer of tooling
  • Treat APIs, events and data contracts as products, with proper standards, versioning and lifecycle management
  • Protect business-critical delivery commitments through frequent, reliable, low-risk deployments
  • Raise the quality bar across architecture, code review, automated testing (unit, integration, contract, E2E and performance), BDD and resilience, partnering with the Head of QA so quality is built in from discovery rather than inspected at the end
  • Make resilience, failure modes and recovery paths part of design from the start, and own the observability, on-call and incident response for the customer-facing services your teams run
  • Give senior leadership, product and commercial stakeholders honest, transparent visibility of delivery confidence, technical risk and trade-offs, especially where client commitments are at stake
  • Work with Product and Delivery early, before requirements are thrown over the wall, so squads have the context to make good decisions and move quickly without becoming chaotic
