We are recruiting for a Principal Nuclear Environmental Consultant to join our Radioactive Waste Management Consultancy business. Due to the rapid growth of our business in the civil nuclear waste management and environment sector, we require more support to deliver and continue to expand our expertise. We have a leading role in waste strategy, inventory and compliance underpinning the future management of radioactive waste, spent nuclear fuels and nuclear materials. We also support clients with Site End-State decision making and underpinning environmental activities. In the UK, we deliver a diverse range of projects for waste producers, waste management organisations and strategic authorities across all aspects of the waste lifecycle. We are delivering similarly interesting and exciting projects across the globe including projects for clients in Norway, Central & Eastern Europe and Japan.
Job Responsibility:
Apply your knowledge, experience and expertise to the environmental aspects that need to be considered in site operations, radioactive waste management and nuclear decommissioning challenges
Lead (or support) a range of consultancy projects and tasks for clients based in the UK and overseas
Developing documentation for new build GDA Environmental Submissions (demonstrating how environmental regulations and Radioactive Substances Regulation are addressed)
Contributing to Environmental Impact Assessments and/or consideration of conventional impacts from waste management activities
Undertaking sustainability assessments
Support to site-end state development and land quality projects, including data gathering/analysis
options assessments

Lead the delivery of high-quality competitive proposals to our clients and build client relationships
Support wider business development activities and provide input on the strategic direction of the team
Support the development of our team through training, knowledge dissemination and mentoring
Requirements:
Degree qualification (or equivalent training and experience) in appropriate environmental, physical science or engineering discipline
Significant experience in a comparable role
Good working knowledge of relevant regulations for nuclear site permitting and operations
Experience of bid leadership and proposal preparation
Ability to manage time and priorities while working on several varied projects
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including tailoring outputs to the requirements of different stakeholders
Good people skills – able to clearly explain concepts to aid training and development of colleagues
