Job Description:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Principal Engineer to join our Secure Network Services (SNS) Organization as part of our Automation & Innovation Team. This team drives Load balancing, Web Application Firewall, Micro-segmentation and associated Automation strategies for Secure Network Services. The ideal candidate will have expertise in architecting and designing solutions that promote reusability, scalability, efficiency and resiliency and possess strong communication skills to articulate the proposed solutions with both technical and business partners.

Job Responsibility:

  • Act as an advisor to leadership to develop or influence applications, network, information security, database, operating systems, or web technologies for highly complex business and technical needs across multiple groups
  • Lead the strategy and resolution of highly complex and unique challenges requiring in-depth evaluation across multiple areas or the enterprise, delivering solutions that are long-term, large-scale and require vision, creativity, innovation, advanced analytical and inductive thinking
  • Translate advanced technology experience, an in-depth knowledge of the organizations tactical and strategic business objectives, the enterprise technological environment, the organization structure, and strategic technological opportunities and requirements into technical engineering solutions
  • Provide vision, direction and expertise to leadership on implementing innovative and significant business solutions
  • Maintain knowledge of industry best practices and new technologies and recommends innovations that enhance operations or provide a competitive advantage to the organization
  • Strategically engage with all levels of professionals and managers across the enterprise and serve as an expert advisor to leadership
  • Provide technical direction, envision, document and champion target state associated with developing the right Network solutions across all Network Systems
  • Advise leadership on complex technical solutions
  • Lead resolution of complex challenges by developing strategic, secure, scalable, and resilient engineering solutions
  • Assist on mitigating risk for the enterprise by proactively addressing capacity problems or system related issues under guidance of Network Services Management, as well as Wells Fargo enterprise standards and policies
  • Assist teams in technical problem resolution

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, education
  • Experience in load balancing technologies (server side load balancing & GSLB) with vendors like F5, AVI, A10, NetScaler, AWS ELB, Azure Load balancer
  • 5+ years of GSLB Services in Software as a Service (SaaS) providers
  • 5+ years of designing and delivery micro-segmentation solutions
  • 5+ years of advanced scripting experience using Ansible, Terraform, Python, YAML, Java, or PL-SQL
  • 5+ years of experience developing and using RESTful Application Program Interface (API)
  • 5+ years of experience with Linux OS environment
  • 2-5+ years of experience with source version control using GitHub or similar
  • Experience with creating and or updating technical design documentation used by engineering teams
  • Agile methodology experience
  • Knowledge/Skills/Ability to identify key issues, involve affected parties, design solutions, obtain buy-in, and communicate effectively through resolution
  • Experience working in a large enterprise environment
  • BS/BA degree or higher in information technology or equivalent work experience accepted
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
  • Experience with information security and risk management including policy and standards, information security assessment, security best practices, and mitigation solution design and implementation
  • Strategic planning experience in translating leadership vision into executable strategies and initiatives
  • Ability to interact with integrity and a high level of professionalism with all levels of team members and management
  • Ability to manage initiatives including detailed planning, process management, and documentation
  • Experience in process Improvement (6 Sigma), solution implementation, and change management
