Principal Mechanical Engineer

Principal Mechanical Engineer - Location: Canada (Montreal, Toronto or Vancouver) or United States (Salt Lake City) - Type: Permanent Full-time - Primero America's team is currently looking for a Principal Mechanical Engineer. We expanded into Houston in 2022 and Toronto in 2023, strengthening our North American presence. We specialize in the design, procurement, and construction management of mineral processing plants. As a Principal Mechanical Engineer, you will act as the technical expert for mechanical engineering within Primero. You will be responsible for leading and reviewing complex mechanical calculations, specifications, datasheets, equipment lists (MEL), and vendor evaluations. This role provides advanced technical expertise and support across mechanical design, analysis, equipment selection, operation, and project execution as required. The Principal Mechanical Engineer will ensure the quality and consistency of all mechanical deliverables for ongoing studies and detailed engineering work, while mentoring and guiding the team. Depending on the project, this person may also act as Lead Mechanical Engineer or Area Manager on specific mining projects. This position reports to the Discipline Lead – Mechanical Engineering.
