As Principal, Marketing Strategy you will be a pivotal member of our Marketing Strategy team at Palo Alto Networks. This is a leadership role and your work will directly and visibly contribute to our overall success for our Marketing organization. You will be tied at the hip to our CMO and will be tasked with developing solutions for complex business problems that are top-of-mind for our C-level and Marketing leadership. Marketing at Palo Alto Networks is going through a transformation and you will be front-and-center in leading us on the journey to drive the AI transformation across the Marketing Organization.
Job Responsibility:
Architect the product and scale the AI first working model across the marketing organization
Position yourself as the Strategy “right hand” and trusted advisor to the CMO
sit on the CMO’s staff and collaborate with her core team in driving decision-making
Develop a deep understanding and expertise around our Marketing capabilities including Brand, Demand Gen, Digital, Event and Field Marketing
Structure and break down complex business problems, develop a hypothesis, drive analysis and deliver recommendations
Work collaboratively across a cross-functional set of stakeholders to gather the right information, pressure test your hypothesis, co-create deliverables, accelerate execution and unlock value
Develop and present high-quality recommendation and deliverables (PPT, Word, etc.) for executive level consumption
Support strategy / business planning processes and assist with developing strategic capabilities across the organization
Drive change across the organization and be willing to wear multiple hats (strategy development, project management and execution) to do it what it takes to achieve outcomes
Provide coaching and mentoring to Leads and Associates on the team and take a personal interest in their growth in the organization
Requirements:
10+ years relevant experience
At least 2 years in top management consulting, private equity or top-tier tech strategy or “bizops” functions with a focus on the CMO / Marketing agenda
MBA graduate from a top-tier B-school or similar academic credentials or “direct promote” in Consulting
Marketing strategy experience looking at marketing transformation, marketing effectiveness, organization, process, productivity improvement and other levers for effectiveness
Large scale enterprise B2B tech expertise either in a consultative or direct capacity
Effective verbal and written communication ability and comfort with both business and technical discussions with senior audiences
Expert in building relationships and leading through influence
Experience managing projects and large-scale transformations
Willingness to go beyond ‘paper strategy’ in order to support outcome realization
Self-starter who thrives in fast-paced, high-growth environments with minimal supervision and with a ‘roll your sleeves up’ mindset
Expertise in the Enterprise technology industry, especially in SaaS
Home base needs to be Palo Alto Networks HQ (Bay Area)
