Job Description:

We're looking for a Bitcoin-focused Quantitative Market Research Principal to join Block's Customer Insights team, driving a unified understanding of bitcoin adoption, user behavior, and market dynamics across the full Block bitcoin ecosystem - Cash App, Square, Bitkey, and Proto. This role will lead high-impact research programs across the bitcoin space - translating data into insights that help guide our cross-functional teams.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead strategic Bitcoin research initiatives, uncovering trends in adoption, usage, and perception that shape product and ecosystem roadmaps
  • Design and execute large-scale quantitative studies to measure Bitcoin ownership, attitudes, and use cases across different demographics and markets
  • Develop segmentation frameworks that identify and quantify key user archetypes to guide product and marketing strategies
  • Conduct market sizing and opportunity analysis for bitcoin-related products and stablecoins, across Block's ecosystem
  • Integrate survey, behavioral, and on-chain data to provide a holistic picture of bitcoin's role in people's financial lives
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with partners across Cash App, Square, Bitkey, and Proto to align insights with business and technical priorities
  • Develop measurement frameworks for bitcoin brand tracking and conduct primary research and frameworks for GTM, messaging and positioning
  • Use AI and automation tools to accelerate research workflows
  • Present insights and forecasts to senior leaders, connecting global bitcoin and crypto trends to actionable strategic recommendations

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in quantitative market research, analytics, or strategic insights
  • Proven track record of leading cross-functional projects, navigating ambiguity, and delivering insights that shape strategic decisions
  • Strong foundation in research design and methodology, including survey design, sampling, weighting, and statistical modeling
  • Interest and understanding of Bitcoin markets, on-chain behavior, and network economics, plus familiarity with stablecoins and DeFi protocols
  • Fluency in quantitative analysis tools such as SQL, R, Python, SPSS, or survey platforms
  • Strong analytical and storytelling skills
  • Applied experience with AI tools to enhance automation, data synthesis, and research scalability
  • Curiosity and conviction about bitcoin and it's role in the future of finance

Nice to have:

  • Exposure to bitcoin or other crypto ecosystems
  • Direct experience in the bitcoin industry and understanding of the bitcoin ecosystem (such as the Lightning Network)
  • Experience working with on-chain datasets plus other alternative data sources which integrate behavioral and attitudinal signals
  • Preference for experience building and working with AI Agents
