Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Principal Machinist to join our team in Huntington Beach, CA.

Job Responsibility:

  • Plan, layout work, setup and operate two or more power machine tools such as engine lathes, milling machines jig borers, horizontal boring mills or duplicating machines as a regular assignment
  • Check blueprints or sketch, shop order, and material for completeness and correctness
  • Determine operations to be performed
  • Layout reference lines and points as required from detail and assembly blueprints, sketches, or sample parts
  • Compute and locate unknown dimensions of a difficult nature as when compound angles, radii and curvatures or complex contours are involved
  • Select, mount, and align various specialized machine attachments, standard or special tooling and cutting tools
  • Detuning, set and adjusts machine speeds, feeds and depth of cut
  • Check own machine setup and parts run for conformance to blueprint specifications
  • Grind own cutting tools, except milling cutters

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working with Mastercam
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working multi-axis Numerical Control (NC) machines
  • 1+ years of experience or equivalent work/military experience
