The Principal IT Pillar Specialist is responsible for interpreting internal or external business issues and recommending best practices. They will be tasked with solving complex IT Pillar-related problems and will work independently with minimal guidance. They may be responsible for leading functional teams or projects and are regarded as a specialist in the field of IT Pillar. As such, they must have in-depth expertise in the IT Pillar as well as broad knowledge of the IT Pillar discipline within the Information Technology function. The AVEVA E3D Administrator is a key technical role responsible for the implementation, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of AVEVA E3D software within the organization. The role requires strong expertise in PML and .NET, with hands-on experience in AVEVA Engineering considered an advantage.
Job Responsibility
Configure and maintain AVEVA E3D projects, including database structures, access control, and user management
Global Administration of Aveva E3D, which includes setting up satellite databases, managing global communications, and handling data extracts
Establish and enforce project-specific procedures and company standards for E3D usage
Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of AVEVA E3D, Paragon, PML, CATS, SPECS, and related modules
Perform system customization, macro development, and automation using PML and .NET to optimize productivity and workflow efficiency
Manage integration workflows for 3D model export/import with fabrication and engineering analysis tools
Creation of Catalogues for all disciplines, as per vendor data, by taking into account various aspects and attention to detailing
Pipe, Tray & HVAC Support configuration/customization as per project requirements
Customization of various reports to cater to project requirements & Fabrication requests
Set up the clash management and run clash reports
Provide end-user training on system usage and customizations
Collaborate with discipline leads to capture requirements and ensure timely, quality deliverables
Conduct routine model audits, data verification, and compliance checks
Troubleshoot technical issues and coordinate resolutions promptly
Generate reports from E3D models for layout and material groups
Configure ISODRAFT for isometric generation per project and client specifications
Configure (including troubleshooting) and extract key deliverables like Material Take Off (MTO), piping isometrics, equipment lists, line lists, weight reports, etc
Setup & configure drawing styles & rulesets for extraction of various types of 2D drawings for various disciplines
Maintain NAVISWORKS model review files and ensure accessibility for all disciplines
Requirements
Strong proficiency in AVEVA E3D Engineering administration, including project setup and customization
Advanced knowledge of PML (including PML-2 object-oriented programming) and .NET
Minimum 10 years’ experience in E3D Administration
Good understanding of engineering principles, design processes, and data management practices to achieve project execution goals
Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and clients
Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and work independently
Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to engineering data management
Nice to have
Hands-on experience with Aveva Engineering and Aveva Integration Services
Knowledge of Aveva Unified Engineering and Spectrum
