Microsoft Silicon, Cloud Hardware, and Infrastructure Engineering (SCHIE) is the team behind Microsoft’s expanding Cloud Infrastructure and responsible for powering Microsoft’s “Intelligent Cloud” mission. To achieve this goal, the Hardware, Infrastructure Management, and Fundamentals Engineering (HIFE) team is instrumental in defining and delivering operational measures of success for hardware manufacturing, improving the planning process, quality, delivery, scale and sustainability related to Microsoft cloud hardware. We are looking for seasoned engineers with a dedicated passion for customer focused solutions, insight and industry knowledge to envision and implement future technical solutions that will manage and optimize the Cloud infrastructure. We are looking for a Principal Hardware Program Manager to join the team.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead end-to-end execution of complex Cloud hardware infrastructure programs, from requirements definition through product launch, ensuring seamless coordination across engineering, operations, and cross-functional teams
  • Own program schedules and deliverables, proactively identifying risks, removing roadblocks, and driving resolution to maintain momentum and meet critical milestones
  • Drive stakeholder alignment and accountability, ensuring programs are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards
  • Communicate program strategy, status, and risks effectively to senior leadership and cross-functional partners through clear, data-driven updates and executive-level presentations
  • Navigate and resolve complex technical and business challenges, providing strategic guidance and fostering collaboration across teams to deliver impactful results
  • Champion operational excellence and continuous improvement, leveraging insights and lessons learned to optimize program execution and accelerate innovation
  • Own product solution delivery, including driving product specifications and developing a deep understanding of customer needs to ensure the delivery of comprehensive, end-to-end solutions

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 6+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience
  • 3+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects
  • 6 years experience managing datacenter networking switch infrastructure projects
  • 2+ years experience managing AI GPU product development in fast-paced environment
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role
  • This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter

Nice to have:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 12+ years experience engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience
  • 8+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects
  • 1+ year(s) of experience reading and/or writing code (e.g., sample documentation, product demos)
  • Experience managing E2E hardware product development, preferably in cloud infrastructure HW or server or networking switch rack development
  • Proven program management experience from NPI to post-product launch
  • Proven leadership, management, facilitation, and problem-solving skills including L1/L2 Triage Capability
  • Proven interpersonal and communication skills, and experience working effectively with all organizational levels
  • Proven experience prioritizing and executing tasks in a high-pressure, fast-faced environment
  • Well versed in Microsoft Office tools (Microsoft Project, PowerPoint, Word, Excel etc.) and Power BI
  • Knowledge of high-volume GPU based server design, hyper-scale networking switch rack and manufacturing is desired
  • Knowledge about datacenters & operation at scale
