As a Principal Game Developer, you will play a key role in the long-term success of Pocket Champs - you will be a technical cornerstone of our game teams - bringing your deep technical expertise to evolve the game’s architecture, implement high-quality features, and ensure outstanding performance across devices. You'll collaborate closely with developers, designers, and artists to continuously elevate the gameplay experience, while also helping to define the technical direction of the project as it scales. Your contributions will directly impact millions of players worldwide.

Job Responsibility:

  • Design and implement robust, scalable, and performant gameplay systems and architectures
  • Define and maintain high coding standards, architecture patterns, and best practices
  • Lead features development, and the tech team assigned, from pre-production, to architecture, development, and QA
  • Help ensure a clean, maintainable, and modular codebase as the game team and scope grow
  • Lead technical investigations and experimentation to propose new features
  • Drive technical decisions and propose architectural improvements that support the game’s long-term vision
  • Be a team player, mentor your peers to help them grow, through code reviews, pair programming, and technical guidance
  • Work closely with designers, artists, and other developers to create cohesive and engaging game experiences
  • Identify and evaluate new tools, technologies, and pipelines that can improve development speed and game quality

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in game development
  • Mastery in Unity in a production environment: Addressables, Remote Settings, CDN, Online/Social features
  • Deep understanding of mobile gaming, game mechanics, gameplay, UI, and UX
  • Experience in game programming patterns (MVC, State Machine, Command, …), and creating generic modules
  • Advanced level of English
  • Previous experience working on a mobile game that scaled
  • Flexible, autonomous, proactive, and accountable for their tasks
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with a collaborative approach
