Job Description:

A leading Building Control and Fire Safety providing expert with client-focused services across the UK are now seeking a highly experienced Principal Fire Safety Consultant to join our growing team. This is a remote position with travel required across England and Wales, offering the opportunity to work on diverse projects while maintaining flexibility and independence.

Job Responsibility:

  • Developing and reviewing fire safety strategies across a wide variety of projects
  • Applying in-depth knowledge of the Building Safety Act, Approved Document B, and wider fire safety legislation
  • Conducting compartmentation inspections and advising on remedial works
  • Occasionally undertaking Fire Risk Assessments and compliance checks
  • Collaborating with clients, design teams, and internal colleagues to ensure robust fire safety compliance

Requirements:

  • Strong working knowledge of current legislation, including the Building Safety Act and Approved Document B
  • Background in Fire Safety, Surveying, Building Control
  • Relevant degree such as Fire Engineering, Building Surveying, Building Control
  • Demonstrable experience in fire safety strategy development and compartmentation inspections
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to advise and influence at a senior level
  • Flexibility to travel throughout England and Wales
