A growing fire engineering consultancy is looking for a Principal Fire Engineer to join their UK team. This Principal Fire Engineer role offers the opportunity to lead complex fire safety projects across the built environment within a collaborative and forward-thinking technical environment. The consultancy delivers specialist fire safety advice across multiple sectors, supporting clients throughout the full project lifecycle to help create safer buildings. This position suits an experienced Principal Fire Engineer who enjoys technical leadership, mentoring engineers, and delivering innovative fire engineering solutions.
Job Responsibility:
Leading large or technically complex fire engineering projects across multiple stages of the project lifecycle
Acting as Project Manager for major commissions, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to high technical standards
Managing and mentoring Fire Engineers and supporting their professional development
Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and project stakeholders
Contributing to business development through repeat work and identifying new opportunities
Managing project resources, budgets, risk, and commercial performance
Staying informed on fire safety legislation, codes, and industry best practice
Requirements:
Engineering Council accredited BEng (Hons), MEng, MSc, or equivalent qualification
Membership of a relevant professional body such as IFE, CABE, or Engineers Ireland
Working towards Chartered Engineer (CEng) status
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong client-facing consultancy experience
Ability to manage multiple projects and mentor engineering teams
