A growing fire engineering consultancy is seeking an experienced Principal Fire Engineer to join their expanding team. This role would suit a technically strong Principal Fire Engineer looking to lead projects, support engineers, and contribute to the continued growth of a well-established consultancy. The Principal Fire Engineer will play a key role in project delivery, technical leadership, and client engagement across a variety of UK developments.
Job Responsibility:
Delivering fire engineering consultancy services across a range of UK projects
Managing fire engineering projects from concept through to completion
Preparing and reviewing fire strategies and technical reports
Providing technical oversight and mentoring to engineers within the team
Supporting engineers in developing their technical knowledge and professional progression
Managing client relationships and identifying opportunities for additional work
Assisting senior leadership with workload planning and project allocation
Ensuring projects align with current fire safety legislation and industry guidance
Representing the consultancy within industry groups, technical forums, or committees
Requirements:
Chartered Engineer or actively working towards chartership (IFE or similar)
Strong experience within fire engineering or fire safety consultancy
Proven experience managing complex fire strategy or fire engineering projects
Experience mentoring or supporting junior engineers
Strong knowledge of UK fire safety legislation and guidance (ADB, BS 9999, BS 9991)
Confident client-facing professional with strong communication skills
Nice to have:
Experience delivering residential fire strategies would be advantageous
