Job Description:

Capital One is looking for a Financial Analyst to join the Capital One Software Finance team. This associate will help influence financial performance across the Software business by analyzing current financial results to identify and address evolving business needs, evaluating trends, communicating expected outcomes, and leading the development of compelling new analytics. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with business leaders, guiding strategic direction toward sustained performance.

Job Responsibility:

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting and analysis
  • Lead development of presentations to communicate analysis results to senior audiences
  • Accurately analyze & explain key cost drivers and monthly variances, suggest actions to the business
  • Proactively identify and lead new analysis that drives additional insights into business performance and opportunities
  • Partner with finance leaders and their teams, as well as other internal stakeholders
  • Provide management and business clients with project statuses
  • Work closely with the finance team to help identify areas and processes for driving efficiencies
  • React to ad-hoc requests and special projects
  • Manage, prioritize, and delegate tasks independently

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or military experience
  • At least 3 years of experience in financial analysis, financial modeling, or a combination
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong communication, problem solving, strategic thinking and influencing skills

Nice to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering) or military experience
  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) or Master’s Degree in Finance
  • Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) license or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license
  • 5+ years of experience in financial analysis and financial modeling
  • 3+ years experience in financial services, banking or technology industries
  • 3+ years experience partnering with senior leaders and internal stakeholders
