Job Responsibility

Shape platform strategy for the performance, efficiency, and scale work that matters most across Microsoft 365 and Copilot, and turn that direction into a roadmap teams can execute
Find and lead work focused on latency, efficiency, and platform, using AI-driven analysis of telemetry, experiments, and operational signals to catch issues early and fix them at the root
Use agents, automation, and AIOps to analyze data, coordinate work, and act on what you learn
Use AI prototyping to model tradeoffs, test scenarios, and stress-test platform investments before committing, paired with solid product and engineering judgment
Weigh tradeoffs and prioritize long-term platform investments with partners in other organizations
Work with engineering leaders, architects, and data scientists to improve platform capabilities and operations at hyperscale
Lead cross-organization initiatives that improve efficiency and speed up engineering velocity so Microsoft 365 and Copilot keep scaling
Set success metrics, OKRs, and KPIs, and shape investment priorities with leadership
Explain complex technical tradeoffs to executives in a way that leads to decisions
Mentor other PMs and move the team toward better, AI-forward ways of working

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree AND 8+ years in product management, program management, or technical leadership roles OR equivalent experience
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements

Deep familiarity with AI/ML systems, model governance, or enterprise compliance frameworks

Job Responsibility

Lead the AI Governance product area within Azure AI Foundry — defining the long-term vision, strategy, and roadmap for policy management, compliance automation, and regulatory readiness
Design and deliver core governance experiences, including agent-level policies, data sensitivity signals, prohibited action controls, and AI system compliance dashboards
Integrate Foundry governance with Microsoft’s broader security and compliance stack — Entra (identity and A2A policies), Purview (data classification and DLP), and Defender (threat insights)
Translate emerging AI regulations (EU AI Act, ISO 42001, NIST AI RMF) into actionable platform capabilities and customer experiences
Partner with Responsible AI researchers and engineering teams to operationalize ethical principles into measurable safeguards and evaluators
Collaborate with customers, industry bodies, and policymakers to help shape standards for trustworthy AI deployment
Establish and track success metrics (governance coverage, compliance posture, customer adoption), ensuring measurable impact and clarity across engineering and partner orgs
Represent the product in executive and customer forums, evangelizing Microsoft’s approach to responsible, governed AI systems

Requirements

9+ years of industry experience, including 3-5+ years in engineering management
Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field
Background in data engineering, platform engineering, or data infrastructure — you understand entity modeling, schema evolution, data contracts, and what it takes to build systems that downstream teams can rely on
Hands-on fluency with distributed data systems: batch and streaming pipelines, online and offline serving, or event-driven architectures — sufficient to drive design reviews and challenge engineers on tradeoffs
Experience building in a cross-functional platform role — you have navigated the tension between what producers can deliver and what consumers need, and you know how to make progress without direct authority over every team in the chain

Job Responsibility

Drive entity onboarding with producer teams across the company — unblock teams stuck on data quality issues, resolve schema ambiguity, and close the gap between what the platform promises and what data owners actually experience
Lead technical design on the trip entity — data model, lifecycle event taxonomy, real-time streaming architecture, and privacy-safe handling of message and conversation data
Closely partner with compute and data infrastructure teams to drive the state-of-the-art for realtime data processing at Airbnb
Partner with proactive trip support, customer support triage, and host AI product teams to validate that the signal layer meets their actual use cases, not a spec written in isolation
Review designs spanning attribute serving, real-time event pipelines, and cross-system entity mapping
Work closely with the principal engineer and program manager on roadmap sequencing and escalation of infrastructure dependencies
Manage and develop a team of ~7 engineers — own their careers, not just their sprint output
Represent entity platform work in executive-level program reviews
