As a Principal Engineer in Azure Storage and Disks, you will lead a high-impact team driving enhancements across our storage control plane and disks platform, ensuring they can meet the demands of exponential AI-scale workloads. You will spearhead AI-driven innovations to help Azure Storage reach effectively infinite scale, tackling system bottlenecks, optimizing performance, and enhancing resiliency. You will also work cross-organization to empower numerous Azure products, multiplying your impact radius and driving platform-wide improvements. Job Responsibility:
Partner with stakeholders to determine requirements for scalable, reliable, and high-performance storage solutions
Lead the design and implementation of enhancements to optimize the storage and disk control plane for AI-scale workloads
Identify and address bottlenecks in system performance and scalability while driving improvements across the platform
Act as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) to ensure system availability, performance, and fault tolerance, including participation in on-call rotations
Leverage subject matter expertise in Azure Storage, Disk and distributed systems to influence technical decisions and product roadmaps
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to C# or Java, OR equivalent experience
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
