Job Description:

Wells Fargo is looking for a dynamic Principal Engineer to join our fast-paced team. This role involves working on multiple critical initiatives to support Cybersecurity Engineering and Architecture (E&A). You will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on a high-visibility cybersecurity function.

Job Responsibility:

  • Creating and performing maturity assessments of engineering tools and ensuring compliance with defined expectations
  • Designing and leading training and upskilling initiatives
  • Setting strategies for gamification and hackathons related to Software Engineering
  • Establishing software engineering team OKRs focused on skills and new innovations
  • Creating and implementing training curriculums for E&A Cyber functions
  • Ensuring adherence through metrics and reporting
  • Coding/development of websites and data transformation logic
  • Establishing and managing communities of practice
  • Coordinating learning initiatives with vendors
  • Facilitating both online and in-person workshops
  • Leading war rooms and designing customized workshops
  • Providing vision, direction, and expertise to senior leadership regarding transformation approaches
  • Evaluating highly complex business problems and providing subject matter knowledge proficiency for technology initiatives
  • Ensuring compliance and risk management requirements
  • Partnering with engineering, database and other technical teams to accomplish E&A and cybersecurity's goals

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of Engineering experience
  • 7+ years of Software Engineering and Business Systems Designing experience
  • 5+ years of information security experience in a senior security engineering role
  • 7+ years' experience in software development environments, methodologies, tools, and frameworks (e.g., Agile, Git, testing frameworks)
  • Deep understanding of secure coding practices, threat modeling, vulnerability management, and compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001)
  • Strong understanding of cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Experience in conducting maturity assessments of engineering tools and ensuring compliance with defined expectations
  • Strong background in establishing and managing communities of practice
  • Proven ability to coordinate learning initiatives with external vendors
  • Expertise in facilitating both online and in-person workshops
  • Experience leading war rooms and designing customized workshops
  • Knowledge of compiling and preparing executive summaries and presentations for management/senior leaders
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, prioritizing skills and analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to meet stringent deadlines and manage initiatives involving process improvements
  • Experience leading large-scale change or complex initiatives
  • Strategic leadership and execution of gamification programs and hackathons
  • Experience with risk metrics, KPIs, monitoring to thresholds, reporting, analytics
  • Proven ability to lead, engage, empower, and unify teams of both domestic and global resources
  • Strong executive presence, facilitation skills, drive for results

Nice to have:

  • 5+ years of experience leading and executing complex technology transformational programs across an enterprise
  • 3+ years of scripting and automation experience
  • 3+ years' experience with security technology product evaluation, proof of concepts and testing
  • Experience with GitHub, Ansible automation and orchestration, Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD)
  • Experience with information security and risk management including policy and standards, information security assessment, and security best practices
  • Ability to define business and technology requirements and align to technology strategy & direction
  • Professional certifications such as CISSP, ISSAP, CCSP, CISM
  • Industry standards experience such as IETF, IEEE, ANSI, ASC X9, NIST
  • Knowledge of open-source machine learning and Generative AI tools
