Job Description

The City of Chandler Public Works & Utilities Department is currently seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our team as a Principal Engineer (PE) in the Capital Improvement Project division, focused on the water and wastewater field. The position is scheduled to work M-F, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Job Responsibility

  • Provide a full range of project management services for capital improvement projects
  • apply a full range of professional engineering principles and practices in water resources, planning, development, programming, design, and implementation
  • negotiate and administer multiple contracts
  • provide technical reviews of designs and estimates
  • coordinate with other agencies and utility companies
  • supervise the daily operations of assigned staff.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in an Engineering field
  • and 8 years of experience as a registered engineer in water and wastewater utility design, construction, unit process control and optimization including at least 2 years of previous supervisory experience
  • and An Arizona Professional Engineer Licensure
  • and A valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record
  • or Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.

Multifaceted experience with a specific focus in water and wastewater project management.
